Day 11 Christmas Eve snowmobiling

Today is Christmas Eve! I had a snowmobile safari to a reindeer and husky farm booked. Based on last night I dressed extra warm. After pickup we were taken to the tour company office & given more clothes. Then we drove to the snowmobile place and were shown how to drive them. There were 2 families reveling together in the group which were so annoying. 5 young kids between them who had no manners and were so high maintenance! Myself, the 2 Americans and the guide got so frustrated with them. Anyway. We got on the snowmobiles (sleigh for the 2 families) and headed off into the wilderness. It was actually quite difficult to steer. It was a lot of fun though.

Stop 1 was the reindeer farm. Rudolph and Donna and Dancer and Blitzen were all there along with the rest of the gang! We went inside too warm up with warm berry juice (amazing) veggie gong out for the sleigh ride. We got to drive ourselves which was fun. Not very fast though.

Next we drove the snowmobiles to a teepee in the forest for lunch. More sausages, chicken nuggets & kebabs was on the menu here.

Next we drive to the husky farm.  Here we got more warm berry juice (it is seriously good!) before heading out to see some of the dogs. We then got into sleds and had a husky ride through the forest. That was fun too. By now though the temp was -17 or -18c according to the guide and we were feeling every degree of it. We headed back to the van and back to town.

Walking back to the hostel I found the outdoor shopping mall. It's a very pretty shopping strip with an igloo, slide and Christmas tree. There is also a temperature sign:

Now that I have feeling back into my body, I'm spending the night in the hostel. Tomorrow I am off to Santa Claus village to meet Santa!
